Severance [book]

Severance [book]

THIS IS THE AUTHOR'S FIRST NOVEL AND LIKE, I CAN NOT WAIT FOR THEIR LIKE, FOURTH NOVEL. MOST OF THIS BOOK IS LIKE, SUPER GOOD, WITH LIKE TIGHTLY KNIT THEMES THAT REFLECT OFF EVERY ONE OF THE DIFFERENT ASPECTS OF THE STORY. THEN LIKE, IT FEELS LIKE THE AUTHOR WATCHED EPISODES OF WALKING DEAD WHILE THEY WROTE THIS AND JUST JAMMED THAT IN. LIKE IT FEELS LIKE THE NY-GHOST BLOG WAS PRETTY CLEARLY SUPPOSED TO BE THE FRAMING STORY, BUT INSTEAD IT'S A REAL NOTHING POST APOCALYPSE THING. LIKE EVERYTHING TIES TOGETHER TO BE ABOUT ROUTINE: KEEPING A JOB AFTER EVERYONE IS GONE, A DISEASE THAT CAUSES REPEATING ACTION, A GRANDMA WITH ALZHEIMER'S THAT MAKES HER REPEAT LONG AGO STUFF, PARENTS THAT CHANGE OR DO NOT CHANGE AFTER LOSING THEIR OLD WAYS. THEN IT'S LIKE JUST THIS OTHER STORY ABOUT BOB THAT GOES NO WHERE AND BARELY RELATES AT ALL.

PS. ALSO THE SURVIVORS CULT BEFORE EVERY RAID SINGS A PRAYER TO THE TUNE OF 'NEW SLANG' BY THE SHINS AND THAT IS THE WORST THING ANYONE HAS EVER WRITTEN, IT IS IMPOSSIBLE TO SING THAT SONG WITH IMPROVISED LYRICS AND IT IS HILARIOUS TRYING TO IMAGINE A GROUP TAKING THAT SERIOUSLY.
