The Invincible [book, audiobook]
The Invincible [book, audiobook]
THIS BOOK IS REALLY NEAT. LIKE, PLOT WISE IT'S SOME PRETTY STANDARD SCI-FI. THE GENERAL FRAMEWORK WOULD FIT PRETTY WELL AS AN ORIGINAL STAR TREK EPISODE. BUT IT WAS WRITTEN IN 1962 AND JUST ABSOLUTELY FULL OF SCI-FI CONCEPTS THAT THIS WAS THE FIRST, OR NEARLY THE FIRST, BOOK TO EVER COME UP WITH. IT'S REALLY INTERESTING TO READ, A LOT OF THE IDEAS ARE MORE OR LESS NOTHING NOW AND NOT A BIG DEAL, BUT IT'S NEAT, A LOT OF SCI-FI PREDICTS FUTURE REAL THINGS, BUT THIS BOOK LIKE, PREDICTS THINGS THAT ARE SCI-FI, BUT WELL BEFORE SCI-FI THOUGHT OF THEM.
PS. THIS IS A GOOD BOOK FOR "TRANSLATED BOOK" BECAUSE I AM SURE THE CONSTANT USE OF THE PREFIX "NECRO" TO MEAN "UNLIVING" SOUNDS RIGHT IN POLISH BUT MAKES EVERYTHING NEEDLESSLY AND HILARIOUSLY BADASS SOUNDING WHEN PEOPLE ARE TALKING ABOUT NECROBIOLOGY AND THE NECROSPHERE ALL THE TIME FOR THINGS NOT NEARLY THAT DRAMATIC.
