The Cage [book, nonfiction, audiobook]

 The Cage [book, nonfiction, audiobook]

THIS IS HISTORICAL NONFICTION TO GO WITH 7 MOON'S HISTORICAL FICTION. THIS IS MORE ABOUT THE END OF THE CIVIL WAR AND THAT WAS MORE ABOUT THE MIDDLE BUT W/E. I DIDN'T KNOW A TON ABOUT THE SIR LANKAN CIVIL WAR  SO THIS DID FILL IN SOME BLANKS. ALSO IT MADE ME REALIZE THE CYANIDE THING, THE CANADIAN NGO PART AND THE SECRETARY DIEING IN A BOMBING PARTS WERE SPECIFIC REFERENCES. SO THAT IS SOMETHING. THIS BOOK IS WELL WRITTEN BUT IT'S FUNNY HOW MUCH YOU CAN TELL THE AUTHOR CARED ABOUT SOME PARTS AND WROTE VERY ANIMATED EXCITED PARTS ABOUT DESCRIBING SOME THINGS THEN OTHER PARTS YOU CAN TELL THEY DON'T CARE OR KNOW ABOUT FEELS LIKE "WE PASTED A LIST WE FOUND ON WIKIPEDIA'

PS. I THINK HONESTLY THE MOST INTERESTING PART OF THIS WAS THAT IT WAS FROM 2010 AND STILL SEEMED WRITTEN IN THE HALO OF 9/11. AND ABOUT HOW A REALLY COMPLEX AND GREY CIVIL WAR GOT SWEPT INTO EASY BLACK AND WHITE THINKING OF TERRORISM AND HOW MUCH THAT SCREWED EVERYONE. IT'S FUNNY THAT THERE IS ALSO KINDA A PAGE WHERE THE AUTHOR IS TRYING TO BE LIKE "NO, WE USED TO KINDA RESPECT SUICIDE BOMBERS! NO REALLY! THINK ABOUT IT!" AND I GOT WHAT HE MEANT BUT IT WAS SO FUNNY HOW HOPELESS SAYING IT NOW SEEMED. ALSO I GOT THIS BOOK OF AUDIBLE SO IT'S NOT REALLY ANY SORT OF SUPER SUPRESSED FORBIDDEN BOOK OR ANYTHING BUT IT WAS INTERESTING THIS GOT A MAJOR RELEASE IN EVERY OTHER COUNTRY THEN HAD TO COME OUT UNDER A SMALL INDIE PRESS IN THE US. US NEVER HAD ANY REAL INVOLVEMENT IN THE WAR AT ALL, WE ARE JUST LIKE PRE-MAD ON WHICH SIDE WE *WOULD* HAVE GONE WITH.
